Institutional Profile

Acharya Chanakya Global Research Council (AC-GRC) is an independent, youth-led, non-partisan and not-for-profit Independent Think Tank and Research Institution devoted to the dedicated advancement of knowledge, research and informed policy discourse on contemporary national, regional and global issues.

AC-GRC is incorporated in India as a Section 8 Company under the Companies Act, 2013, under the regulatory framework of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India and was incorporated on 30 June 2026.

The identity of the Council draws inspiration from the enduring tradition of Acharya Chanakya. As a research think tank, AC-GRC is committed to independent research, evidence-based analysis and interdisciplinary scholarship. It brings together academics, researchers, practitioners, experts and emerging scholars to examine important political, strategic, economic, technological, historical and public-policy questions affecting India and the wider world.

The Council has successfully completed its registration on the NITI Aayog Darpan portal, further strengthening its institutional presence and engagement within the academic, governmental and civil-society ecosystem.

Centers of Research

The research activities of AC-GRC are organised through eight specialised Centres of Research:

3. Centre for India’s Foreign Policy & Global Affairs

4. Centre for Science & Technology

5. Centre for Global Economy & Trade

6. Centre for Global Governance & Public Policy

7. Centre for Global Civilisation & Historical Studies

8. Centre for Indian Politics & Public Affairs

The research activities of AC-GRC are organised through eight specialised Centres of Research under the Director General of Research. Each center is headed by a Centre Director, supported by Research Fellows and Research Interns.

The Council undertakes a range of academic and research initiatives, including research papers, policy briefs, publications, conferences, seminars, lectures, expert dialogues, roundtable discussions and collaborative research programs.

AC-GRC places particular emphasis on encouraging young researchers and emerging scholars while creating opportunities for meaningful interaction between academia, policy practitioners, and subject experts.

The intellectual ethos of AC-GRC is inspired by the ancient Sanskrit ऋग्वेद—मण्डल 1, सूक्त 89, ऋच् 1 (Rigveda 1.89.1)
